A Catalyst for Change: Manthan: Nirbhaya se Abhaya

The Women’s Development Cell of Vanita Vishram Women’s University, successfully organized a thought-provoking panel discussion on October 21, 2024, titled “Manthan: Nirbhaya se Abhaya.” This event brought together esteemed legal experts, renowned writers, and community leaders to address the critical issue of women’s safety and security.

With over 145 participants actively engaged in the discussion, the forum fostered open dialogue, raised awareness, and inspired action. The event was further honoured by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, Ms. Shrungi Desai-Lawer, Neelam Kanthariya, Author, Amrapali Desai, Counsellor, Prof. Sapana Pathak, Principal, BMU law college, Jameela Ansari from SHG and many other eminent personalities.

The panel discussion provided invaluable insights and served as a platform for students to voice their thinking and feelings and contribute meaningfully to address this pressing societal issue.

The program was an all-female consultative exercise to ensure that each participant gets a chance to express her concerns and ideas to improve the security of women in the Indian society.

The event was organized under the able guidance of our Hon’ble Provost – Dr. Daxesh Thakar, and Chairperson of Women’s Development Cell – Dr. Vinita Mod.
The program was smoothly coordinated by Dr, Sangeeta Srivastava, Member of WDC, VVWU, along with other dedicated team members Dr. Anamika Talesara, Dr. Nimita Umretiya, Dr. Maryam Bagia, Ms. Megha Joshi, Ms. Harsha Khurana, Ms. Anmol Jadav, Ms. Shubhi Sharma and Ms. Soniya Shukla whose scrupulous planning ensured the event’s success. Dr. Anamika Talesara and Ms. Harsha Khurana hosted the entire event.

Vanita Vishram Women’s University (VVWU) is the First-ever Women’s University of Gujarat approved under Public-Private-Partnership with the Government of Gujarat under the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009.
