Anti-Ragging Week Observance – 2026

The Anti-Ragging Committee of Vanita Vishram Women’s University, Surat , observed Anti-Ragging Week from 12th to 18th August, 2026 , with a series of awareness activities aimed at promoting a safe, respectful, and ragging-free campus environment.

As part of the observance, a documentary on anti-ragging was screened for all first-year students on August 12 and 13, 2026. In addition, approximately 1,700 first-year students of the University took the Anti-Ragging Pledge and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a ragging-free campus.

To further spread awareness about the ill effects of ragging and encourage active student participation, various competitions and activities, including Poster Making, Reel Making, Wall of Friendship, and Walkathon , were organized from August 14 to 18, 2026. Students from various departments across the University participated enthusiastically in these activities, contributing to the collective effort to promote a safe, inclusive, and welcoming campus environment.

The Anti-Ragging Week observance was conducted under the able guidance of the Hon’ble Provost, Dr. Daxesh Thakar and Registrar, Dr. R. D. Patel , Vanita Vishram Women’s University. The successful execution of the activities throughout the week was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Convener of the Anti-Ragging Committee, Dr. Ruchika Agarwal, with the active support and cooperation of the Committee members and Anti-Ragging Squad members.
