The Department of Computer Science, School of Science and Technology at Vanita Vishram Women’s University Surat, organized an “Expert talk on Pocso, Sexual Harassment and Self Defense” by Ms. Vaishali Devre, ASI, Investigation unit for crime against Women’s at Crime Branch, Surat, for the students of TYBCA on Thursday, 5th September 2024 on the special occasion of Teacher’s Day .
The primary objective of this programme was to familiarize students with the creating a safer environment for everyone, especially for students. It is essential for fostering a culture of safety and respect. Self-defense programs empower students to protect themselves in dangerous situations. The resource person guided the students on how to deal with such situations and protect themselves by using 24*7 helpline Abhyam.
Around 150+ Students from the Department of Computer Science, actively participated, and aware about Pocso, Sexual Harassment and Self Defense.
The program was organised under the guidance of our Hon. Provost, Dr. Daxesh Thakar with cooperation from Dr. Nirali Dave Dean, Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology. It was coordinated by Dr. Hemangini Patel and Ms. Aashi Parikh and Ms. Shruti Prajapati.
