



Guest Lecture on National Sports Day
The Department of Physical Education and Sports, along with the NCC & NSS Units of Vanita Vishram Women’s University, Surat, organized a Guest Lecture on the occasion of National Sports Day on 31 August 2026 at K. B. Marfatia Hall, with the participation of around 150 students.
Prof. Dr. Saravanan M., Professor and Principal, Shree Bharatimaiya College of Optometry & Physiotherapy, Surat, delivered an insightful and engaging lecture on “Movement as Medicine: Overcoming Burnout, Stress, and Academic Fatigue.”
The lecture focused on several important aspects of physical activity and holistic well-being, including:

During the programme, Ms. Bhakti Patel, JDSCM alumna, was specially acknowledged for her outstanding achievements in sports while representing VVWU. Her accomplishments served as an inspiration to students and reflected the University’s commitment to promoting sports and encouraging excellence among women.
Our respected Provost, Dr. Daxesh Thakar, graced the occasion with his presence and motivated students to participate regularly in sports events organized at different levels. He encouraged students to continuously strive for holistic development through sports, fitness and active participation.
The programme successfully conveyed the powerful message of “ZERO EXCUSE FOR FITNESS”, encouraging students to make physical activity, discipline and healthy living an integral part of their everyday lives.
