Our Students Shine at Zari-Zardoshi Carft Competition

A Proud Moment on International Women’s Day

Under the esteemed guidance of Shree Narendra Modi, Honorable Prime Minister, Mrs. Darshana Jardosh successfully coordinated a state-level Zari Zardosi craft competition aimed at reviving this traditional art form. The event, organized by AMI Creative in collaboration with Sumul Dairy, took place on March 6, 2025.
 
A total of 125 participants from Surat showcased their talent, including 30 students from the Department of Fashion Designing, School of Vocational Studies, Vanita Vishram Women’s University (VVWU). These students, representing the Second Year (SY), Third Year (TY), and Master of Vocation (M.Voc) programs, demonstrated their creativity and expertise in Zari Zardosi embroidery.
 
Ms. Amrita Dubey (M.Voc, Semester II) secured the First Rank, while Ms. Sadhna Singh and Ms. Ishita Bhargav were recognized with a consolidated prize for their exceptional craftsmanship. As a token of appreciation, all participants received a certificate, a saree, and Sumul Dairy products.
 
The competition was a resounding success, inspiring students to refine their artistic skills while contributing to the preservation of India’s rich embroidery heritage. The Department of Fashion Designing extends its heartfelt gratitude to:
