The Department of Commerce of Jyoti Dalal School of Commerce and Management, Vanita Vishram Women’s University, Surat, organized Parents Orientation Programme cum Meeting for the Parents of Second and Third Year B. Com., as well as M. Com. Part II students. The primary aim of the Parents Orientation Programme was to foster a strong relationship between parents and the institution, share academic expectations, institutional practices, and student responsibilities and encourage parental involvement in the academic journey and holistic development of their children.
The programme began with a warm welcome by the Dean of Commerce and Management Studies, Dr. Abhilasha Agarwal, who emphasized the importance of parental support in higher education. The Dean explained the structure of the syllabus, internal assessments, university examinations, and attendance criteria for SY, TY, and M. Com students. A session was conducted on discipline policies, code of conduct, digital behavior, and support systems available on campus.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Dean, who appreciated the enthusiastic participation of parents and their commitment toward the growth and well-being of their children. About 80 parents participated in the orientation Programme after that they met the mentors of their students and discussed the progress of the students.
The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Nanda Bothra, Head of the Department of Commerce, Faculties Ms. Ruchi A. Choksi and Ms. Nikita Keshan under the valuable guidance of Dr. Abhilasha Agarwal. The continued support and encouragement from Hon’ble Provost Dr. Daxesh Thakar and Registrar Dr. R. D. Patel were instrumental in the smooth execution of the programme.
