12-Day Creative Workshop “Hunar” by the Dept. of Fashion Designing

Dept of Fashion Designing, School of Vocational Studies organized a 12-day creative workshop titled “Hunar” in collaboration with Pidilite. The workshop was conducted with the aim of nurturing creativity, strengthening practical skills, and providing industry-oriented hands-on exposure to students of fashion and designing.
The workshop was coordinated by Mr. Jainam Shah, Cluster Development Manager, Pidilite and conducted by Ms. Minal Jagani and other experts from Pidilite. A total of 70 students enthusiastically participated in the workshop and actively engaged in various creative activities throughout the programme. Each day focused on a different artistic concept and technique, enabling students to explore diverse craft forms such as Bird Pin Cushion, Jamini Roy inspired Table Mat, Fabric Bangles, Wet-on-Wet Painting, Denim Fabric Pendant, Blue Bird Pendant, Mosaic Lid with Flower, Sea-themed Trinket Dish, Tie and Dye, House Key Holder, Pichwai with Texture, and Gossip Girl Home Décor.

The workshop provided an immersive learning experience, allowing students to enhance their artistic confidence, experiment with innovative materials, and gain valuable experiential learning beyond the classroom.

The programme concluded on a proud and celebratory note with the distribution of certificates of completion by our respected Provost, Sir, appreciating the dedication and creativity of the participating students.

The entire workshop was successfully supported and greeted by Dr. Daxesh Thakar, Honorably Provost Sir and Dr. Vinita Mod, Dean, Faculty of Vocational Studies. The event was well organized by Dr. Megha Gohil, Head of the Department of Fashion Designing. The event was smoothly coordinated by Ms. Ankita Purohit and Ms. Priya Ranoliya, Teaching Assistant, Department of Fashion Designing, who provided continuous support and motivation to the students throughout the workshop.

The successful execution of Hunar reflects the department’s commitment to skill-based learning, creative excellence, and meaningful industry collaboration, making the workshop a truly enriching and impactful initiative.
