Vanita Vishram Women’s University

I feel extremely privileged to be a part of the first-ever Women’s University of Gujarat. It is a matter of great pride for all of us to be associated to such an esteemed institution. Yet another milestone is added to the list of milestones attained by Vanita Vishram in its phenomenal history of 115 years!

The Government of Gujarat has conferred the status of the First Women’s University of Gujarat on Vanita Vishram under the provisions of the Gujarat Private Universities Act, 2009. Indeed, a proud moment for all of us! At this juncture, I would like to thank the members of Managing Council, Mumbai for their support and encouragement. I would also like to thank the members of the Sponsoring Body for their relentless support and guidance. Last but not the least, I also thank Dr. Daxesh Thakar, the Provost of VVWU for her constant support and academic vision as well as all the staff members for their commitment and co-operation.

Since inception, the name of Vanita Vishram is synonymous with Women Empowerment. It has always been the philosophy and guiding principle of Vanita Vishram. The said University has been established keeping in mind the age-old philosophy of Vanita Vishram, that is to say, ‘Women Empowerment’.

The Vision & Mission of Vanita Vishram Women’s University focuses mainly on the following key areas:

  1. Imparting Quality Education
  2. Skill Development
  3. Holistic Development of Students
  4. Making Students Socially & Economically-Empowered Citizens

It is my earnest wish that all of us should work together for the betterment of Vanita Vishram as a whole and for the University in particular.

With Best Wishes
