The Library is the academic heart of Vanita Vishram Women’s University (VVWU), serving as a vital centre for learning, research, and intellectual growth. In alignment with the University’s mission to empower women through quality education, scholarship, and lifelong learning, the Library strives to provide equitable access of knowledge resources in diverse formats. It supports the academic programmes, research pursuits, and professional development needs of students, faculty, research scholars and other staff.
Library has invaluable resources for graduate, post graduate, Ph.D. students and faculty members of the University. The library has vast collection of books, magazines, journals, encyclopedia, dictionary, and it caters to those pursuing education and research in the field of Management & Commerce, Pure Science, Computer Science & Information Technology, Humanities, Social sciences, Vocational Coursers like Fashion Designing and Hospitality Management.
The library is fully automated by using Library management software SOUL 3.0 and advance automation RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) System.
About Library Collection
The University Library maintains a rich and diverse collection of books to support the academic, research, and learning needs of students, faculty, and scholars. Our well-organized and continuously updated book collection reflects the curriculum requirements, research priorities, and interdisciplinary interests of the university community.
The collection includes:
- Textbooks and Reference Books across all departments and disciplines
- Subject-specific Academic Resources to support teaching and coursework
- General Reading and Competitive Exam Books for holistic development
- Donated Books and Gift Collections contributed by faculty, alumni, and institutions
Currently Library Housing Total 25752 Books in its collection.
The entire book database is catalogued using standardized library practices and is accessible through the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) available on intranet , enabling users to easily search, locate, and check availability of resources.
Library Rules
- ID cards and University Prescribed Uniforms are compulsory to avail library services.
- Library use is restricted to only to authorized members of the university with valid University ID. Other visitors need to take permission from Admin Office before visiting.
- A Student desirous of using the Library shall enter his/her name and time of entry legibly and put signature in the register kept at the entrance.
- Strict decorum and discipline must be maintained in the Library. Users must ensure that rights of other users of the Library are not breached in anyway by their own acts of commission or demission.
- Silence must be observed in the reading halls.
- Use of Cell phones is not allowed. If readers wish to keep them while using the Library, they must be switched off or on Vibration mode.
- Eating, sleeping and talking loudly are strictly prohibited in the Library
- Readers must not bring sticks, umbrellas, briefcases, boxes and other such articles into the Library. They may be kept at the Library property counter. The users are advised not to leave expensive items with the property counter.
- Books taken out of the shelves must be kept on site or submit to library staff. Replacing the Books on shelves by users is not encouraged as the documents may get misplaced.
- Readers should not mark, underline, write, or tear pages or otherwise damage the library documents.
- Violation of library rules will lead to the loss of library use privileges.
- Readers are requested to handle all Library property carefully to avoid damage to it and also not to disturb other readers/users.
- No Library material can be taken out of the Library without permission of the library staff.
- Anyone who violates the rules and regulations of the Library may be debarred from using the Library facilities or other punishments due for breach of law or norms of public order and decency.
- Suggestions on all aspects of library services are welcome.

Issue restricted Text/Reference Books, latest Serial Publications, Reserve Books.
- Books can be borrowed only against a valid ID card and girls must present the card to Issue books, failing which the library staff can refuse to honor the request.
- Loss of ID card must be reported to the library.
- New ID card can be avail by paying prescribe fees.
- Any change in data of ID card must be reported to IT Department and updated in ERP system
- Loss of book (s) must be reported immediately.
- In case of loss of document(s)/ irreparable damage/ mutilation of document, the borrower will be liable to pay the present cost of the book(s) and 10 per cent of the present cost of books as processing charge and late fine,
- The member may also replace the lost/damaged book(s) by a new copy with same edition with 10 per cent of the present cost of books as processing charge with late fine.
- In case of rare or out of print or valuable documents, the amount of penalty will be decided, on case-to-case basis, Replacement by photocopied version will not be accepted.
- if any in case of foreign publications, current exchange rates of relevant foreign currencies will be applied to calculate the cost of the documents.
