





From 11th to 18th August 2025, Anti Ragging Week was observed at Vanita Vishram Women’s University. The Anti Ragging Committee and Anti Sexual Harassment Committee organized several activities during this week to create awareness amongst the students and staff about the menace of ragging.
11th – 12th August – Awareness Sessions was organised in collaboration with SHE Team to sensitize the First Year Students. ACP Mini Joseph from SHE Team (Surat), Mr. Mohammed Naved Sheikh from Civil Defence and Dr. Nehal Shah from Rutuja Foundation were invited as expert speakers to orient the students. Almost 2000 FY students benefitted from this program which was conducted in 4 sessions over the two days.
13th August – Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competition was organized with ragging and sexual harassment as central themes. Almost 30 students participated in the competition which was judged by a renowned artist Ms Nikita Jariwala.
14th August – Documentary and Oath Taking was held for first year students in which they were shown documentaries to create awareness about ragging and sexual harassment. They also pledged that they shall not indulge in any act of ragging.
15th August – Online Quiz was planned for staff and students of VVWU with the objective to educate them about ragging and harassment. More than 1600 participants received e-certificate.
18th August – Walkathon and Nukkad Natak was planned on the last day wherein participants of the poster competition rallied through the campus of Vanita Vishram creating awareness about Ragging by displaying their posters and students also performed Nukkad Natak to educate their peers about the consequences of ragging.
The above activities were conducted under the guidance and support of Honourable Provost sir Dr.
Daxesh Thakar and supervision of Dr Abhilasha Agarwal (Chairperson-ASHC) and Dr. Ruchika Agarwal (Convener-ARC) along with the coordination of Committee and Squad Members.
