Department of Food and Nutrition, Vanita Vishram Women’s University celebrated Malnutrition Week 2023 in association with our MoU partner, IAPEN India Surat chapter. Nutritional Assessment was conducted at WZ/45 Mahadev Colony, Adajan, Surat on 19th February, 2023 for 0-5 years old children and Adolescent Girls.
Dr. Shilpee Agrawal conducted a session on anaemia and its prevention and management through diet and Iron rich recipes and Dr. Bidita Shah sensitized on complementary feeding, PEM and its consequences. Our alumni Ms. Disha Dey, Ms. Zainab and current B.Sc students Ms. Reet and Ms. Kanika had done anthropometric assessment for 0-5 years and Adolescent Girls. Banana and Roasted Peanut-Chana were distributed to the participants to motivate the consumption of locally available food for good Health.
