Expert Session on “Tax Concepts and Administration” at JDSCM, VVWU
The Jyoti Dalal School of Commerce & Management (JDSCM), Vanita Vishram Women’s University (VVWU), successfully organized an expert session on the topic “Tax Concepts and Administration” on Saturday, September 20, 2025.
The session featured CA Nilesh Vasa, Senior Advisor at E&Y LLP and Professor of Practice at JDSCM, VVWU, as the distinguished resource person. His insightful presentation explored various dimensions of the Indian tax mechanism, highlighting the significance of tax collection in promoting social welfare and nation-building.
Key Highlights of the Session:
• A comprehensive overview of tax administration in India
• Discussion on the importance of levying taxes for equitable development
• Valuable insights into recent reforms in Goods and Services Tax (GST)
• An engaging online quiz on Constitution and Tax Trivia, with enthusiastic student participation
• Distribution of goodies to quiz winners as a token of encouragement by CA Nilesh Vasa
The session was attended by over 250 students from the B.Com. and M.Com. programmes and was marked by active engagement and enriching dialogue.
