Expert Talk by Psychiatrist Dr. Mahesh Desai

The Department of Psychology, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Vanita Vishram Women’s University, organized an Interactive Expert Talk on “Substance Abuse and its Interventions” on 21st February, 2025.

Substance Abuse is an extremely sensitive and prevalent issue in the youth today. By organizing this interactive talk, the department aimed to orient the students regarding substance abuse which will help them immensely in their professional journey.The Expert Guest speaker of this event was Senior Psychiatrist Dr. Mahesh Desai who delivered an engaging and interactive session on Substance Abuse and relevant interventions.

204 students from the Department of Psychology actively participated in this session. The session was very engaging for the students as they could discuss on a lot of topics related to Substance Abuse.

This event was organised under the guidance of our Provost, Dr. Daxesh Thakar and with support of the Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and Head, Department of Psychology, Dr. Aditya Farsole. The event was coordinated by Ms. Wasuddha Tikmani, Teaching Assistant, Department of Psychology.
