The Department of English, School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Vanita Vishram Women’s University, organized a One-Day National Conference on “Infinite Imaginings in English Language and Literature” (I²EL²) on 29th December 2024 in the Shivgauri Hall, which witnessed vibrant discussions and knowledge-sharing among 240 participants, including 75 presenters.
The event featured insightful sessions, including a keynote address by Dr. Joya Chakravarty from Jaipur, Rajasthan and plenary talks by Prof. Sulabha Natraj and Dr. Parul Popat from Anand, Gujarat, highlighting evolving narratives in language and literature. Parallel sessions explored diverse themes such as Feminist Literature, Psychology and Literature, English Language Teaching, Cinema and Literature, Cultural Studies, Indian Mythology and Ecocriticism, showcasing remarkable research and talent.
The event was organized under the guidance of Dr. Daxesh Thakar, Provost of Vanita Vishram Women’s University, with the support of Dr. Aditya Farsole, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and under the leadership of Dr. Pratima Shah as the Convener, Dr. Garima Tiwari as the Co-convener, and Ms. Mahima Panjabi as the Coordinator, their meticulous efforts played a pivotal role in ensuring the conference’s success. The day celebrated the power of literature to bridge gaps, foster understanding, and inspire change.
