Start-up Genesis

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, The Department of Commerce, Jyoti Dalal School of Commerce and Management, VVWU, successfully organized ‘Start-up Genesis’ – An Intra Department Star-up Idea Competition on Saturday, March 8, 2025 with the objective of providing a platform to the students to present their business ideas.

This event was an effort to bridge the gap between the classroom learning and the practical application of the concepts related to the subject of ‘Business Start-up and Innovation’ for 140 SY B.Com. students.

The Start-up ideas were judged by Ms. Anuradha Agrey- Founder, AnuBha Group & AnuBha Innovations, Founder Trustee, Mohee Research Foundation.
She not only guided the students but also gave insights on how their ideas can be turned into a profitable business.
Mr. Bharat Jariwala- Investor at AnuBha Group was also present and provided guidance to the students about the financial aspects of their ideas and their feasibility.

14 Groups presented their start-up ideas, out of which 3 best ideas were selected on the basis of various parameters such as uniqueness, innovation, market potentiality, feasibility and presentation.

Both the judges were highly impressed by the ideas presented by the students and appreciated them for the same.

The session was meticulously planned under the guidance of Hon. Provost Dr. Daxesh Thakar and Registrar Dr. R. D. Patel. The event was executed with the diligent support of Dr. Abhilasha Agarwal, Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies.
It was effectively coordinated by Dr. Nanda Bothra, HoD, Department of Commerce and Ms. Mahafreen Patel, Asst. Professor, Department of Commerce.
